Funny how it always involves that one single person.

Yet you do nothing to correct the problem but still complain.

I bet you'll even delete this post instead of dealing with the problem it mentions.

Why?

Because you're a giant #####?

Yup.

Ban away. Then lock, delete, cover up... whatever. Make everyone suffer because you're a coward.

It's easier than dealing with the true problem.

madison.com requests that posts include the topic, not just flames and jabs. Otherwise off-topic bickering breaks out. It's not a single person and everyone has been known to do it.
These posts are usually removed and the member contacted along with an explanation.
It's really a pretty clear line in the sand and we just ask that topics are discussed instead of posting off-topic flames and jabs.
Your understanding with that is appreciated. Please proceed with a discussion about the topic.

Not quite true. Romania was not isolated. They simply didn't produce on the world scale very effectively.

Please give us more details about Romania, and how it compares to China.

Please, follow the progression of this thread. No need to re-explain something that is already in writing. If you still can't comprehend how Romania and Russia were used in this context, I can't help you.

[insulting jab]

Nevermind, I thought there was something about Romania, I guess it really doesn't have anything to do with the topic. Romania was under the Soviet Union's power, not China's.

China - that is the topic. It's a very large country. It was a feudalistic society until Mao Tse Tung and his army took over - it took around 10 years before he won. He tried to impose a socialist society. There were communes and co-ops. But after he died other leaders decided to have more dealings with the west and the US. They allowed companies to come and set up factories and stores. So China is intertwined with our economy.

Oh good lord.....Here is how Romania came up; in digest form. Please try hard to follow along as it pertains to the topic of the 'sky is falling' attitude about Red China.

Some on this board were espousing the rise of Red China. Others were contending that communism will eventually fall to the demands of the wealthy. I pointed out the fall of Russia and Romania as evidence of large communist regimes that fell.

It was at that point that you said (about China):

Maybe, but the difference is they have joined their economy with the rest of the world, instead of being isolated.

Then I said:

Not quite true. Romania was not isolated. They simply didn't produce on the world scale very effectively.

Then you said:

Of course countries in the communist bloc had dealing with other countries.

*sigh* Then I questioned your contradiction as clearly one cannot be isolated in your context and open to the rest of the world at the same time.

Not answering why you seem to have contradicted yourself you then you said:

If you decide to discuss the topic - which is China and not me, please let me know. [Wink]

After some more mindless pleading for you to understand how Russia and Romania came into this discussion, we are now here......

[insulting jab]

The only insulting part of this whole discussion is your denial of what you have written and then trying to turn it around as though you are some innocent victim of 'jabs.' I realize it sucks to be held accountable for talking about something you know nothing about but if you don't like it, don't make statements you can't back up. Further, stop acting like you have no idea how the conversation came to where it is. It's absolutely delusional.

But it had nothing to do with the "demands of the wealthy." It was Gorbachev and others who were in favor of democratizing the USSR. Then some of the SSRs demanded independence and Russia didn't have the power to stop them, except for Chechnya and other smaller countries.

As for Romania, they overthrew the dictator and executed him - on TV so everyone could watch, and cheer.

None of this has anything to do with China.

I agree and I'm glad you're admitting that Romania has nothing at all to do with the topic.
