About Chinese military ability. They have the numbers and the arms to take us on, along with the backing of other countries, if it came to that. But it won't because they control too much of our economy. We depend on them.

Maybe, but the difference is they have joined their economy with the rest of the world, instead of being isolated. They are not truly socialist because they have capitalist enterprises and businesses. There are people making profits and there is a rich class because of this. It is sort of a capitalist dictatorship.

Not quite true. Romania was not isolated. They simply didn't produce on the world scale very effectively.

Not quite true. Romania was not isolated. They simply didn't produce on the world scale very effectively.
Of course countries in the communist bloc had dealing with other countries. But they were not capitalist. And Romania had a very cruel dictatorship.
But China has a stock market, something the truly communist countries would not have. But then they were never really communist. China was close but then the leaders decided it would be better to be involved and so became more capitalist. And now they have a rich upper class and a very poor lower class.
