MadisonAdmin (10/26/2009) I was glad to see Favre and the Vikings grounded yesterday. If nothing else than to help keep things in perspective. The Vikings are definitely beatable.
Genie, what do you think? Should fans cheer or boo Favre's return to Lambeau this Sunday?
Maybe he'll have flashbacks, and start throwing to people wearing green and gold. That would get the fans cheering.

So, I herd U liek mmm...mmm...mmm...Mudkipz.

| I just spent 2 days making a Purple cover with the number 4 and the letters F A V R E for an old GB hat. My husband is rooting for Favre and so am I. He gave my husband 16 years of Green Bay excitment. He still loves to play and we love to watch him. Too bad that Green Bay didn't understand and Thompson thought more of his older players. Now Green and Tauscher are back. At least Tauscher should have been kept. Thompson just wanted to get rid of all Ron Wolfe's players. Go Favre and take the Vikings with you to the Super Bowl. You are owed one - the Denver Super Bowl was yours and it was stolen.

Final play - great throw, great catch. bad referee call. Instant replay started next year because of it.
The media saw it, the TV audience saw it, but the ref. blew it.
Touchdown.
Looks like Favre and the Vikings have a chance for a Super Bowl berth. Hope they do. Go Favre. We still enjoy your quarterbacking. Wish you were still a Packer. Oh well.
Looks like the Packers needed to have a few old men on their team. Especially Tauscher. Their quarterback needs some protection.

I know I'm late to this part of the topic, but I figure I'll throw my $.02 in the ring...
I personally have been rooting for Favre all season - except 2 games. Go figure, those 2 games he wins - but that's the root of the problem, IMO. It seems pretty obvious that Favre still has "it". Why he was chased out of Green Bay, I can only speculate on.
I can understand those that root against Favre... He is playing for the Vikings, after all. At the same time, I can't help but realize just what he gave to this franchise, and wish him well in whatever he does. I just also wish Green Bay could have taken out the Vikings in those 2 games.

The Packers had such poor coverage for Peterson. He ended up with some injuries and I'm surprised he wasn't hurt worse, he was so banged around. He did well despite that.
I could never boo Favre. And I didn't know that Ari Fleischer was hired by the Packers to deal with the problems with Favre. No wonder Favre came out looking so badly. Fleischer is the spin doctor who sold the Iraq War to the public only to admit there were lies after he left the administration. Sounds like he did the same to Favre. It's pretty cowardly for the Packer heads to pay money for that, especially when the team is community owned. I wouldn't want my money going for that if I lived in Green Bay.
...Girding for that battle, the Packers have brought on a hired gun: Former White House spokesman Ari Fleischer. For the next month -- the duration of training camp and the preseason-- Fleischer will serve as a PR consultant for the Packers.
Fleischer now runs Ari Fleischer Sports Communications, whose motto is, "Ari Fleischer Sports Communications can help you handle the bad news and take advantage of the good." That's something the Packers need to do right about now.... Fanhouse

Oh yes. Denver Broncos and Packers. Super Bowl don't know the number, believe it was the next year after Packers won their first Super Bowl with Favre. I'll get the exact date and SB number from my husband. He knows all, but hates computers.
Super Bowl 32, with seconds to go, Favre threw into the endzone and it was caught. With just 3 seconds left. It might have tied the game, if the refs had called it correctly. Holmgren lobbied for instant recall the following year just because of this bad call. He was on the board so had some clout in the board decision. Loss was 31 - 24 and the touchdown and kick (if completed) would have tied the game.
